Overthrow of Idol: Lord Bolingbroke about Jean Boden’s View of History

Lord Henry Bolingbroke (1678—1751), philosophy and politician who was one of bright thinker and statesman. Bolingbroke leaved England for France after attempt of restoration of Stuarts was failure. There he became the author of some historical essays, in ont of thtm Boligbroke wrote about ideas of Jean Boden, French philosophy, writer and politician (1529—1596). Bolingbroke read his work in youth and liked it very much. But decades later he changed his mind and criticized Boden’s ideas how to read history, as wrote Bolingbroke. Contemporary authors investigate Bolingbroke’s political and philosophical views, but his historical views, as a rule, they don’t take in minds. The author of these essay tried to answer why Bolingbroke overthrow his youth idol.
