Abstract

The article substantiates the relevance of the category “spirit of law” for legal science. Law, as a manifestation of the spirit, can exist “without form”, that is, metaphysically. The law can act on relations and the consciousness of their participants outside and outside of their forms and sources. So, when making a judgment, the goals of law are in demand. The amendments made to the Constitution of the Russian Federation in 2020 led to the actualization of the spiritual and moral foundations of law. The author characterizes the manifestation of the spirit of law. He notes that the value of law is primarily spiritual, not instrumental.
