Abstract

In light of the current crisis state of society's development the article assesses the selected in the General theory of state and law of the permanent and basic functions of the state. Experienced by mankind crisis state is assessed, in particular, as an indicator of the effectiveness of the functions of the state. Considering the spiritual decline of mankind the most important factor of the modern crisis, the selection in the system of functions of the spiritual function of the state is justified, which will serve as a resource for the transition to a new type of civilization - spiritual and ecological, and overcoming crisis.
