Abstract

An overview of Forsyth-discussion on the topic of "Legal science of the future: a view of young scientists", organized by Council of young scientists of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, on 25 June 2019. Savenkov noted the relevance and importance of the issues young scientists for discussion, together with well-chosen methodology organizers of the event. Forsyth-discussion as a view to the future is the most convenient model of scientific discussion for identifying trends, problems and forecasts in the development of the modern law.

The work of the foresight discussion was held in two parallel sections: "The formation and establishment of a young scientist" and "Promising topics of legal research".

The moderators of the first section used interactive methods when conducting it. The participants of the discussion were asked to answer a number of questions by filling in the tables, including the criteria for the effectiveness of the scientist's work, his status, new areas of legal science, the image of a young scientist and the process of its formation. Attention is drawn to the special role of councils of young scientists in each research institution as a body whose main task is to support and represent the interests of young researchers. At the same time, participants stressed the importance of the fact that the councils are effective and actually functioning bodies.

The participants of the second section consistently discussed three main current trends in the development of the modern legal science: law and artificial intelligence, law and the environment, law and Biomedicine. At the same time, it was noted that the relevance of the directions submitted by the organizers for discussion is reflected in the Strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation. The features of the event format based on the Rapid forsite methodology are also indicated. In addition to the presentations, participants were presented with a table for discussion, in which they were asked to identify trends, technologies, opportunities, threats, and formats (usually legal regulations - legal acts) in all three areas as some results. In summing up the results of the second section, the moderators and participants stressed that there is a tendency to blur disciplinary and industry boundaries in research and development. In this regard, in order to implement promising areas of legal science, especially when conducting relevant research, it is necessary to interact and cooperate legal scientists with specialists from different fields of knowledge.
