State. Law. Institute: 95 years of history in persons

The article is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is written through the prism of the history of the creation and activity of the Institute, its directors and prominent legal scholars. The article examines main milestones of the formation and development of legal science in Soviet and modern Russia. The formation of the main schools of legal thought, their influence on the formation of Russian statehood and the development of domestic legislation are analyzed in the concrete historical connection. The basic scientific concepts in the field of theory and history of state and law, Philosophy of Law and related fields of knowledge are examined in the context of the formation at the Institute of outstanding representatives of domestic legal science. The conclusion is substantiated on the sufficiency of the scientific potential of the schools of legal thought for solving modern problems in the field of fundamental legal research defined by the Strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation
