Abstract

The paper provides results on the isotope (Sr, Nd and O) study of volcanic rock composition performed for the Uda sector of the Western Trans-Baikal rifting area. This investigation made it feasible to evaluate the mantle melt/environment interaction, which affected the composition of Late Cretaceous (83-70 Ma) volcanics. Their geochemical and isotope characteristics represent evidence that, they were derived from moderately-enriched mantle having the composition close to that of OIB sources. The Early Cretaceous rocks formed from the mantle sources including the subduction-enriched mantle.  When moving to the surface, the initial magma of the Uda complex (131-111 Ma) was contaminated with the substance of the lower crust. Magmas of the Zazinsky complex (143-135 Ma) bear the features of interaction with the upper crust granitoids of the Angara-Vitim batholith.
