Abstract

Mass spectrometry was used to study the content of estradiol in muscles during the metamorphosis of the daubed shanny (Leptoclinus maculatus) from different fjords of the Svalbard. The level of estradiol in the larval stage of L4 development was significantly lower than in stage L2. This index was significantly higher in adults than in the post-L5 stage. Changes in the level of estradiol during metamorphosis can be associated with growth stimulation and regulation of the process.
