Abstract

The article analyses problems of building-up the contemporary Qatari economy resting on the earlier accumulated petrodollars ensuring further development of the country including the post-oil era. In this regard the plans of the Qatari’s leadership related to the implementation of socio-economic reforms, laid out in the Vision 2030 are under study. The article debates the strategy of economic growth motivating overhaul development of both national banking system and infrastructure that made it possible to put their actives in line with the traditional source of capital increase associated with the extraction and export of oil and gas. The article  deals  with  economic  methods  embraced  by  this  modest-sized  monarchy  in  the  Persian  gulf  area  that  have  helped  the government in building-up highly efficient reproduction system mainly capable to secure goals of socio-economic development of Qatar. Such a success was achieved by the country not only due to the gigantic reserves of energy material, but by the motif-based policy in modernization of national economy as well. Owing to the acquired advantages the country has managed to set itself as one of the main suppliers of the liquefied gas to the world market and to address additional financial resources with the purpose to speed up modernization of the socio-economic structure of the state.
