Аннотация (др.)The article examines the history of obtaining and using aluminum and its alloys in various spheres of human activity, from the moment of the discovery of this element to the present day. Man began to use aluminum later than many other metals: it was isolated in its pure form only in the first half of the 19th century. However, due to its properties, it quickly found application in the economy and it is currently involved in almost all spheres of the human activity: this metal is widely used in the transport, electrical and food industries. Aluminum alloys are widely used, characterized by a combination of special physical and mechanical properties, namely, low density with excellent thermal conductivity and high corrosion resistance. Plus, they can be recycled and reused, which are undoubtedly a great environmental and economic benefit. The author analyzes and summarizes materials on the history of aluminum and its alloys, including foreign ones, and highlights the most important events in this area.
