Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the interpretation of Latin inscription from Azerbaijan (AE 1951, 263). In the author’s opinion, it is to a considerable extent the history of mistakes and misconceptions related to the wrong localisation of the inscription, which led to the unreasonable idea about it being a testimony of Roman military presence in Caucasian Albania.
