Существовал ли ранний историк Симонид Кеосский?

В одной из статей византийского лексикона «Суда» упоминается историк-генеалог Симонид Кеосский (это единственное свидетельство о нем), причем сказано, что он был внуком одноименного лирического поэта и жил в V в. до н.э., до Пелопоннесской войны. Обычно этот писатель признается реальной личностью. Ф. Якоби во «Фрагментах греческих историков» связал с ним семь фрагментов – два с уверенностью и пять в качестве «спорных и сомнительных». Р. Фаулер в «Ранней греческой мифографии» считает Симонида-внука автором только двух фрагментов, однако и он не отрицает его историчности, хотя соглашается, что в сведениях о нем имеются несообразности (один из фрагментов имеет евгемеристический характер, в другом фигурируют домашние павлины – все это более характерно для сочинений времени эллинизма). В статье рассматриваются все семь фрагментов и предпринимается попытка доказать, что мифограф V в. до н.э. Симонид, внук поэта, не существовал; часть фрагментов, атрибуированных ему Якоби, следует отнести к лирику, а часть – к малоизвестному эллинистическому автору Симониду Младшему (дедом которого поэт, конечно, не мог быть), упоминаемому в «Естественной истории» Плиния. Также в статье приводятся примеры и других ошибочных сведений о ранних греческих историках, которые в изобилии можно найти в лексиконе «Суда».
