Abstract

Through the ethnocultural and country differences, the article analyzes the success of integration into Russian society of labor migrants from Azerbaijan and six other countries of the former USSR - Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Based on the approaches of Dutch and German authors, proposing to interpret integration as a process of including migrants in the existing social systems of the host society, the analysis is divided into three areas: political and legal integration, socio-economic integration, cultural-identification integration. As an empirical base, we used the data of the all-Russian survey of labor migrants in 2017, conducted by the Center for Ethnopolitical and Regional Studies in 19 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that migrants from Azerbaijan occupy, in general, an intermediate position between the most integrated immigrants from Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia, on the one hand, and the least integrated ones of the Central Asian countries, on the other.
