Abstract

In recent years, increasing importance of integration processes is obviously taking place at the level of individual countries reflected the analyses of the ability of society to internal social integration. The paper attempts to conceptualize the integration potential phenomenon of society, taking into account specifics of contemporary Russia, and discusses possible perspectives of its research. Features of the integration potential of a society are formulated as essential characteristics of a society expressing its wholeness, stability and sustainability. Integration potential of a society is determined as social resources are necessary and used for the implementation of internal integration processes. It is shown that the integration potential of a society is formed and developed basing on core principles of social integration. Modern disintegration trends common to different countries, trends specific to Russia and Europe, determining the need for new approaches to the implementation of social integration are emphasized. Main factors of social integration, promoting formation of the integration potential of society are discussed. It is indicated that the level of development of factors of social integration of society in various areas affects the level of development of the integration potential of society. The features of the macro-, meso- and micro- level of social integration in the projection of the development on the integration potential of society are characterized.
