I. A. BUNIN’SSTORYTHECICADAS:HISTORYOFTHETEXT

The paper investigates the history of the text of I. A. Bunin’s story The Cicadas (later called The Night), with all the surviving autographs, publications of this text, as well as the author’s laterperiod notes on the printed copies of the story taken into account. All stages of the author’s work on the story are studied (cuts, editing, additions, etc.). The most illustrative examples of discrepancies in different sources of the text are presented.
