Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the reception of Silvio Pellico's works in Russia, with a special emphasis on his Le mie prigioni (My Prisons). Starting from the well-known work by Nina Kauchtschischwili Silvio Pellico e la Russia (Milan, 1963), the author develops the theme, paying particular attention to the role that the famous Pellico's book played in the genesis and the history of the so-called tiuremnaia or lagernaia proza (most of the article is devoted to the parallels between Pellico and Solzhenitsyn), as well as in shaping the philosophical and moralistic attitudes of such authors as Gogol, Dostoevsky and Tolstoy.
