Assessment of the degree of severity of local ethnic contact zones of the Republic of Bashkortostan

Abstract

The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the most multi-ethnic regions of Russia. At the same time, the republic can be considered as an ethnic contact zone on a regional scale, consisting of local ethnic contact zones identified at the level of municipal districts and urban districts. The purpose of the study is to assess the degree of expression of local ethnic contact zones on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan based on the results of the population census conducted in 2021. This assessment takes into account the heterogeneity of the components that make up the ethnic contact zones, which determines the novelty of the study.

The study showed that the ethnic mosaic index used to determine the degree of expression of ethnic contact zones allows only a formal assessment of the complexity of the ethnic structure of the population of the territories, but does not give an idea of the features of this structure. To take into account the factor of heterogeneity of the components of ethnic contact zones, the work carried out classifications of local ethnic contact zones according to the combination of ethnic components and the degree of proximity/contrast of their constituent ethnic groups. The second classification is based on the value of the ethnic contrast coefficient, or Soroko coefficient, calculated at the district and city level. The final typology of local ethnic contact zones, taking into account the heterogeneity of their component structure, showed that the maximum severity of ethnic contact zones characterizes the middle part of the republic, corresponding to the territory of the most pronounced Bashkir-Russian interaction. At the same time, the degree of expression of ethnic contact zones in the north-west of Bashkortostan, in the region of the Bashkir-Tatar continuum, turned out to be lower.

1 Введение. Республика Башкортостан является одним из самых полиэтничных регионов России. Вместе с тем, республику можно рассматривать как ярко выраженную этноконтактную зону (ЭКЗ) регионального масштаба. В работе используется геокультурный подход, согласно которому ЭКЗ представляет собой один из компонентов территориальной структуры этнического пространства (этнического слоя геокультурного пространства), являющийся результатом наложения двух или более этнотерриториальных систем. В рамках данного подхода возможно выделение ЭКЗ разного иерархического уровня. Обычно различается три уровня иерархии ЭКЗ: 1) цивилизационный (макроуровень); 2) региональный (мезоуровень); 3) локальный (микроуровень). Наше исследование оперирует нижним уровнем этой иерархии, при этом локальные ЭКЗ рассматриваются в границах муниципальных районов и городских округов.
2 Целью исследования является оценка степени выраженности локальных этноконтактных зон на территории Республики Башкортостан по итогам переписи населения, проведённой в 2021 г. Данная оценка учитывает разнородность (степень близости/контрастности) составляющих этноконтактные зоны компонентов, что и определяет новизну проведённого исследования.
3 Для достижения обозначенной цели в процессе исследования было осуществлено пять классификаций и две типологии ЭКЗ на локальном уровне (в границах муниципальных образований и городских округов Республики Башкортостан) по этнической статистике 2021 г. Это: 1) классификация ЭКЗ по степени выраженности (по величине индекса этнической мозаичности — ИЭМ); 2) классификация ЭКЗ по наиболее многочисленному этническому компоненту (преобладающей национальности); 3) типология ЭКЗ по степени выраженности и наиболее многочисленному этническому компоненту; 4) классификация ЭКЗ по сочетанию этнических компонентов; 5) классификация ЭКЗ по степени близости/контрастности составляющих их этносов (по величине коэффициента этнической контрастности — КЭК); 6) классификация по степени выраженности ЭКЗ с учётом разнородности их составляющих (ИЭМ*КЭК); 7) типология ЭКЗ по степени выраженности с учётом разнородности их составляющих и наиболее многочисленному компоненту.

5 Исходные предпосылки. Изучению этнодемографических процессов в Республике Башкортостан уделяется достаточно большое внимание. В первую очередь, следует отметить работы, где проанализированы изменения в этнической структуре населения в регионе исследования за длительный временной интервал [17; 27]. В ряде публикаций рассмотрена этнодемография отдельных народов, проживающих в республике, например, башкир [20], русских [1], марийцев [21]. Имеются работы, где представлены результаты изучения этнодемографических процессов в отдельных муниципальных образованиях Башкортостана [10; 11].
