Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of E.A. Budilova's ideas about the formation and development of Russian socio-psychological knowledge published in the monograph “Socio-psychological problems in Russian science”. It is noted that the origin and development of scientific social psychology in Russia of the nineteenth century occurred in close connection with the development and solution of practical, socially significant problems (judicial and military reforms, the formation and development of psychiatric practice, etc.). According to E. A. Budilova development of social and psychological problems in Russian science was initially interdisciplinary. The research was conducted at the intersection of social psychology as a branch of psychological science and related disciplines studying human and society (sociology, ethnography, law, psychiatry, etc.). An important advantage of the contribution of EA. Budilova in the development of problems of the history of Russian social psychology is a consistent statement of the idea that the formation and development of Russian social psychology took place in parallel and largely independent of the formation and development of social psychology in other countries. It is concluded that the monograph Budilova thoughts and evaluation of the ratio of practical and scientific psychological knowledge, the possibilities and methods of using the achievements of social psychology in various fields of social practice: ideology, politics, justice, medicine, etc., have not lost their relevance today.
