Abstract

The keen interest of Maximilian de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg in scientific experiments, intellectual curiosity and great talent for management favored the research in electrochemistry and the practical use of galvanic tech-nologies as well. The essay tells about those Duke’s experiments in electrotyping and the first “artistic bronze” plant founded by him, which added his name to the history of Russian science and industry.
