Abstract

On the example of achievements of the Laboratory of Physical Gasdynamics of the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute headed by Lenin Prize Winner, professor Yu.A.Dunaev it is clearly seen how fundamental researches allow finding technical solutions. Thus, heat-shielding coatings of manned space vehicles and rocket warheads, thermionic energy converters, and experimental setups for spacecraft models were created.
