Abstract | The article examines entrepreneurship's role in contribution to social welfare. Viewing entrepreneurship as a way to extract benefits (increase property) through the implementation of market transactions, the author states that there are different three types of entrepreneurship: productive, non-productive and predatory, of which only the first contributes to economic growth and development. It is highlighted that entrepreneurship type is determined not only by institutional conditions of its implementation, but also by the nature of involvement of business entities in entrepreneurial activity - forced or voluntary. The author shows that only voluntary inclusion in the entrepreneurial process is accompanied by creative, value-adding innovations for society. Taking into account the low innovation activity of Russian entrepreneurship the article reveals root causes preventing the growth of creative entrepreneurship: lack of economic freedom, lack of competition and deformation of entrepreneurs' remuneration principles. |
