Neo-classicism and modernity in the work of the Colombian composer Blas Emilio Atehortua

The article attempts to provide a creative portrait of a contemporary Colombian composer Blas Emilio Atehortua, whose works found a reflection of the contradictory aesthetic direction of post-modernism – Neoclassicism, neofolklorism and avantgarde. The huge catalogue of works of various genres and the mastery of artistic and technical means make it possible to place this composer on a par with the most prominent representatives of Latin American musical culture.
