Abstract

The main subject of the new work of the Institute for Latin American Studies is the innovative activity in the broadest sense of the process as well the possibilities of LAC countries to include in the global transition to the 4th technological wave of innovation, or the Fourth industrial revolution. Furthermore the authors explore the specific problems the Region faces in the way of building an advanced economy. Another emphasis is made on the improvement of institutional and legislative basis for the formation of national innovative policies in the Latin American countries.
