Abstract

With the growing conflictogenicity of the system of international relations as a whole, the US-Cuban conflict also began to worsen. The US leadership tried to conceptualize its policy towards several Latin American states, which in Washington consider a threat to national security. It is about Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua. With the support of the right-wing governments of the region, the White House accused Havana of an “imperialist” and “destabilizing” foreign policy line. Since 2017, the tightening of the policy and rhetoric of the American authorities has continued with very noticeable systematicity. However, this strategy, as it turned out, has its limits - it is limited by the interests of the D. Trump administration, mainly in the domestic political struggle. Taking into account the last assumption, this article presents an analysis of bilateral confrontation in the context of regional international relations. It also gives possible scenarios for the development of the conflict.
