Moscow State Univerdity hosted the international scientific conference of ibero-americanists "V Martian readings", organized by the scientific society "José Martí Department". This scientific forum, which has already become a tradition, has been held since 2015. This year's conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban revolution, the 20th anniversary of the Bolivarian revolution in Venezuela, the 45th anniversary of the "Carnation Revolution" in Portugal and the collapse of the last colonial Empire that followed. The conference was held in the form of a plenary session and five thematic sections: Cuba: history, culture, modernity; Modern political processes and recent history of Latin America; Communication and cinema; Current problems of socio-economic development of Ibero-American countries; Languages, culture, ethnography, sources. The plenary session was addressed by diplomatic representatives of a number of Latin American countries and leading Russian experts in the field of politics, economics, history and culture of the Ibero-American world. The plenary session was followed by the opening of the exhibition "Three Ibero-American revolutions – the scarlet dawn of justice in green camouflage", prepared by the staff of the MSU Scientific library together with members of the scientific society "José Martí Department" and students of the Faculty of History and others of MSU. The readings were attended by scholars of many faculties of MSU, other universities and research centers of RAS (Institute of Latin America and Institute of Africa). Besides Russian colleagues, representatives of Cuba and Venezuela, Bolivia and Spain took part in the conference.
