In connection with the celebration of the anniversary of the victory of the Cuban revolution at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences, on January 22, 2019 a thematic scientific conference was held with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. During the event, a number of reports were presented on the international significance of the revolution, the main stages of building socialism on Liberty Island, Cuba’s cooperation with the USSR and Russia, the country's achievements in the social sphere and constitutional changes, problems of contemporary Cuban-American relations.
