Abstract

Latin America is one of the major global drug producing areas. It influenceson politics, economy and other aspects of life. Drug trafficking in Latin Americameets the needs either external or internal markets. This article attempts to consider severalways of struggle with the drug trafficking on the stages of drug production, drugtransit as well as drug trade. Based on available data, the authors calculated the numberof drug users, estimated the value of the drug market and its importance in the economiesof the Latin American states.
