Bioethics and Law: from Historical Conceptions to Modern Presentations

This article analyzes social changes caused by the influence of knowledge of heredity which was acquired through genetic research. Authors were particularly interested in situations when as a result of new, suddenly available knowledge there is active invasion of new meanings into the deep layers of human’s existence. The circumstances and determinants of the process are subjected to philosophical understanding and scientific analysis. During the analysis, genealogies were recreated with the help of the latest achievements of science and technology and were actively influencing the historical consciousness of individuals and their identity. The research states the hypothesis of the origin of choice between two different scenarios of further evolution of modern society. The first one supposes the partial comeback to blood-related relations and the second one assumes the erasure of borders between “love for the close” and “love for the distant”. The possibilities and boundaries of social regulation of genetic research by means of bioethics and law are considered.
