Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Travels and Embassies by Gilbert de Lannoy

The article is devoted to the study of an excerpt from the "Travels and Embassies" of the Flemish knight and diplomat of the 15th century Gilbert de Lannoy, which describes his stay on the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1414 and 1421. Of particular value are the testimonies of de Lannoy about the cities of Vilna and Troki, as well as about diplomatic practice at the court of Grand Duke Vitovt, information about the nature, ethnic and confessional status of the population of the principality. The article may be of interest to researchers of the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Burgundian state, and international relations.
