Abstract

The article is devoted to the composition of coats of arms and titles on the seal of Eufemia, wife first of Lord, and then also Duke of Meklenburg Albrecht  II. The author comes to the conclusion that these were the coats of arms of the husband of Eufemia and its ancestors, namely the coats of arms of Meklenburg, Sweden, Rostok and Norway. Seal itself was prepared still approximately one 1336 year, about which the title in its legend testifies. The author also comes to the conclusion that from the seal of Eufemia and its mother of Duchess of Sweden and Halland Ingeborg he began the custom to place on the seals of Queens and Duchesses the coats of arms of husband and parents. It existed in North Europe prior to the beginning of the 15th century. Proofs to that are revealed on the presses of the relatives of Duchesses Ingeborg and Eufemia: Queen of Norwey and Sweden Blanсhe, Queen of  Norwey and Schweden Margaret, Duchess of Schleswig and Countess of Holstein Elizabeth.
