Конфликтующие властные дискурсы в елизаветинской и раннестюартовской Ирландии

Ирландский опыт раннего Нового времени демонстрирует, что формирование государства Нового времени было в том числе продуктом дискурсивной борьбы, где различные стороны в попытке освоить новые возможности государственного строительства, обращались к различным, доступным им легитимирующим дискурсам. В 1570-х гг. интенсифицировались процессы подчинения Зеленого острова, в результате чего проявились внутренние конфликты. Рефлексия по поводу вопросов управления Ирландией отразилась в новых властных дискурсах и возникавших в ответ контр-дискурсах. Условно исследуемые дискурсы можно разделить на три группы: дискурс наместничества, дискурс административного аппарата Ирландии, существовавший в период консенсуса с лордами-наместниками, и дискурс католической знати. В целом дискурс административного аппарата Ирландии представлял собой «проективный», более деперсонализированный дискурс, в рамках которого аппарат управления обособлялся от политического сообщества. Появивший в ответ на отстранение католической знати от власти консервативный контр-дискурс акцентировал сеньориальную модель королевской власти в Ирландии и консентуальные модели управления, и объяснял избранность местной знати для отправления власти. В рамках такого традиционного дискурса держание должностей было «вплетено» в ткань общества, ибо управление воспринималось социальной функцией знати.
