Abstract

This article deals with the fundamental issues of Russian criminal procedure law related to the purpose of criminal proceedings, its social nature and the "laws" of its functioning as a super-complex object of management. The author formulates the sociological concept of criminal justice as a special kind of social education, the "members" of which are organizationally and functionally separate, autonomous subjects of criminal procedure. The paper emphasizes the connection between the purpose of criminal justice as a broad social system and the tasks facing the participants of criminal procedure relations. The conclusions that the author comes to as a result of the research are formulated separately.
