Abstract

The article presents the author’s original concept of understanding and classification of sources of law according to which, they should be considered in respect of three key stages of law lifecycle: law formation, lawmaking, and law enforcement. It is the author's opinion that such approach allows to move beyond the narrow bounds of legal positivism in the interpretation of sources of law, get over the ambiguity and legal uncertainties of the “source of law” term, and to bring about its uniform semantic identification in the process of legal discourse. In terms of the proposed methodology, such debating forms of law as case law, acts of the Constitutional Court, scientific doctrine, and customary law, are assessed.
