Strategically significant medical technologies: legal aspect

The article examines the main approaches to medical technologies, as well as the selection of strategically important medical technologies among them. Under strategically significant medical technologies, it is proposed to understand methods, methods, techniques for influencing the human body, its systems, organs, tissues, cells to achieve not only the tasks of a specific medical intervention in a patient (diagnostics, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, etc.) but also providing certain types of security, stability and (or) contributing to the innovative development of health care, economy, society and the state. A specific list of strategically important medical technologies must be approved by the Government of the Russian Federation on the basis of an expert opinion. A conclusion is made about the need for legal consolidation for strategically significant medical technologies of special organizational, legal, financial and other measures aimed at ensuring their availability in the country.
