Abstract

In 2018–2019 under the leadership of the Russian Academy of Sciences the procedure of long-term forecasting of fundamental and exploratory researches was implemented. The purpose of this article is to present the results of this prediction for the discussions in the scientific community, the subsequent consideration of the outcome of these discussions in RAS and use of the outcome predictions of fundamental and exploratory research in preparation of further forecasts of the country's scientific and technological development. This article contains a comparison of the results of long-term thematic development forecast for fundamental and exploratory research with the results of the promising areas of scientific and technological development, peer review relevance and world-class projected research on thirteen trends of the science and assessment of their total funding.
