Defectio Fregellana: о реакции сената на «фрегелланский казус» в 125/124 гг. до н.э.

Аннотация

В статье рассматриваются вопросы, связанные с восстанием во Фрегеллах (колонии латинского права) в 125 г. до н.э. и реакцией сената на этот инцидент. Автор приходит к выводу, что так называемое «восстание» являлось внутренним социальным конфликтом, возникшим после провала rogatio Fulvia de Latinis civitate danda между малоимущими фрегелланцами и представителями правящей элиты. Последние были вынуждены обратиться за помощью к Риму и просить сенат вмешаться в разрешение конфликта, выставляя его как восстание против Рима. Жестокое подавление претором Л. Опимием восстания во Фрегеллах объясняется тем, что сенат опасался распространения подобного конфликта на другие колонии латинского права. Дарование прав римского гражданства представителям верхушки, помогавшим Л. Опимию в разрешении социального конфликта, автор связывает с основанием гражданской колонии Фабратерии Новы в 124 г. до н.э. на месте разрушенных Фрегелл и проведением ценза в 125/124 гг. до н.э.
