Abstract

The article discusses the mechanism of socio-cultural self-regulation among young people. The study is based on the study of regulatory meanings of differing nature and their reflection in youth consciousness. Analysis of meanings and values connected with the elements of the self-regulation mechanism, allows identify the formation of “semantic spaces” that are the basis for different types of self-regulation. Self-regulation of young people’s lives is analyzed as subjectively-objective process, where the subjective side is associated with the individual content of meanings, and the objective side - with the structuring of the elements and their place within the self-regulation mechanism. The use of the structural-taxonomic modeling made it possible to reveal the action of the mechanism of socio-cultural self-regulation, presenting it in its entirety. Integrity is ensured by the interconnection of the foundations for self-regulation of the life activity of young people with a wider context of social and cultural reality. At the first level of taxonomic analysis, the structure of the most significant connections between the elements of the socio-cultural mechanism was achieved. Analysis of the most significant connections within the mechanism made it possible to identify elements that determine the dominant direction of young people life choice. The second shows the relationship between taxons formed at the first level. Analysis of the connections between the types of self-regulation and socio-demographic characteristics of youth is offered.
