Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the meanings of the life world of Russians. The study aims to identify the content of the basic life meanings of the Kemerovo region residents. The researchers identify and characterize groups of meanings, using data from focus-group interviews conducted by the authors (October - November 2018). Three groups were identified: (1) meanings of life, taking into account the depth of the content of the main attitudes, as well as the means to achieve them (2) the meanings of the ideological (ideological) nature (3) meanings that determine the life goals of the developing modern Russian society. The analysis of meanings is presented taking into account socio-demographic, occupational and settlement characteristics of the interviewees. The article discusses options and horizons for understanding the current state and future prospects of various groups of region residents. In conclusion, the authors note that the sociocultural differences identified as in the study also show the shifts in the life meanings of Kuzbass residents in relation to Soviet and post-Soviet sociocultural attitudes, and reflect transformations in people's meanings relative to market and democratic models cultivated in recent social and political innovations.
