Abstract

This article analyzes the experience of publishing the "Sociology of professions" section in the journal "Sociological studies" for ten years. The author considers its creation and content from the point of view of the discipline institutionalization in Russia, as well as formation of its subject. The role of the journal as a unifying platform for scientific communication of researchers of various fields and the formation of thematic agenda is considered. Based on the analysis of the topic and content of the section, conclusions are made about the prospects for its development through the deployment of relevant discussions and identification of common topics that require interdisciplinarity. Materials that are combined in this section indicate the possibility of a new look at significant social problems, search for methodological tools to solve them.
