Abstract

The author attempts to identify sociological content of the «nationalization of elites» and «national-oriented elite» concepts, presents an analysis of distinctive features of the nationalization process of Russian society elites. The object of analysis is the elite layer that is able to think and act strategically, independently and on the basis of a common understanding of the fundamental values and meanings of modern Russian reality. Nationalization of elites is considered as the most important component of the country's return to independent development based on its own highly professional intellectual and personnel potential, on the national cultural tradition. The main directions of nationalization of elites are presented. It is emphasized that it is impossible to solve the problem only with organizational and legal tools and methods of coercion. We need a systematic, strategically calculated solution. The conclusion is made that conditions are necessary that would put the elite in a socially responsible position and form in it the qualities of a real bearer of the national idea, rather than a formal one.
