M. A. BULGAKOV IN SEARCH OF A REVOLUTIONARY PLAY: A STAGE CHRONICLE OF THE DAYS OF THE TURBINS

The article explores the genre specificity of Mikhail Bulgakov’s theatrical albums from the collection of the Institute of Russian Literature. Using the materials of Bulgakov’s first theatrical album (1925-1927), the stage history of the play The Days of the Turbins and the further development of the plot of the Theatrical Novel (Notes of the Deceased) are clarified. The materials of the albums are compared with Bulgakov diary entries of 1923-1924 (My Diary/ Under the Heel).
