Political geography: a new look at the academic discipline

Based on the content analysis and comparative characteristics of the educational literature most in demand in the educational geographic space of the higher school in the discipline “Political Geography”, a review of a new educational complex based on an interdisciplinary approach (taking into account the interests of students studying in different areas of training: pedagogical education — geography), geography, political science, regional studies, international relations). The importance of discipline from the ideological point of view is emphasized. Distinctive features of the educational publication (complexity, consistency, accessibility of the presentation of the material, cartographic provision, scientific continuity) are singled out and argued. An analysis of the structure of the textbook and a brief description of its content are given, highlighting chapters containing traditional political and geographical knowledge used in the geographical educational process and chapters containing a new or expanded (for geographers) information base. The conclusion is made about the expediency of using the materials of the educational complex in teaching such disciplines (within the framework of geographical areas of training) as “Political map of the world” and “Modern political geography”, as well as when studying the relevant sections in the courses “General economic and social geography of the world”, “Economic and social geography of foreign countries”. A high level of information saturation from the political, historical and geographical points of view was noted.

1	Введение. В постсоветский период в образовательном географическом пространстве высшей школы появился целый ряд новых учебных дисциплин, что потребовало подготовки соответствующей учебной литературы. Одной из таких дисциплин стала «Политическая география» с разными вариациями названий в зависимости от направления подготовки (география, педагогическое образование — география, государственное и муниципальное управление, политология, международные отношения, регионоведение и др.) и места в учебном плане. Например, «Политическая карта мира» (изучается, как правило, на начальных курсах), «Основы политической географии», «Современная политическая география», «Политическая география и геополитика», «Основы геополитики», «Политическая география» (на завершающих курсах обучения) и др. При этом отметим, что политико-географическое знание (в контексте политической карты мира или отдельных его регионов) всегда было неотъемлемой частью географического образования и рассматривалось в рамках таких учебных дисциплин, как «Общая экономическая и социальная география» (педагогическое образование — география), «Экономическая и социальная география зарубежных стран» (география, педагогическое образование — география) и др.
2	Именно поэтому в течение длительного периода времени основной учебник, обеспечивающий учебный процесс по данной дисциплине, которым пользовались все вузы страны, оставался регулярно актуализируемый и переиздаваемый «Географическая картина мира» В. П. Максаковского или в более поздний период времени, работа этого же автора «Общая экономическая и социальная география» (педагогическое образование — география). Современными их аналогами в определённой мере можно считать учебники, подготовленные коллективами ведущих географических вузов страны — совместными усилиями исследователей и преподавателей Московского педагогического государственного университета и Московского государственного университета «Новая географическая мира» (под редакцией В. А. Колосова, Д. В. Зайца) и Санкт-Петербургского государственного университета «География мира» (под редакцией Н. В. Каледина, Н. М. Михеевой).
3	Однако перечисленные учебные издания, несмотря на всю глубину и конструктивность, делающих их востребованными в образовательной деятельности, ориентированы на широкий спектр знаний в области экономической, социальной, политической и рекреационной географии. В этой связи выглядит неудивительным стремление изучать каждую из частных наук в составе социально-экономической географии в рамках учебного процесса отдельно и более фундаментально. Это привело к созданию отдельных учебников по ним — «География населения», «География мирового хозяйства», «Рекреационная география» и, конечно, «Политическая география». В силу того, что политическая география преподаётся на разных направлениях подготовки, первые учебные пособия создавались как географами — М. М. Голубчиком, В. А. Колосовым, Н. С. Мироненко, И. А. Родионовой, В. Е. Путырским, О. Е. Афанасьевым, В. Н. Холиной, А. С. Наумовым и др., так и политологами — Р. Ф. Туровским, И. М. Бусыгиной и др.
