Современная политика США в странах Латинской Америки и Карибского бассейна

В статье анализируются проблемы, с которыми сталкивается администрация Джозефа Байдена в ходе проведения внешней политики в странах Латинской Америки и Карибского бассейна (ЛАКБ) на современном этапе. Сложности во многом связаны с переоценкой внешней политики, противостоянием между демократами и республиканцами в конгрессе, политической и экономической нестабильностью в ряде государств Западного полушария. Автор рассматривает результаты Девятого саммита Америк 2022 г., попытки Соединенных Штатов сохранить свое влияние и расширить взаимодействие во всем полушарии на фоне внешнеэкономической стратегии Китая, во многом совпадающей с интересами стран ЛАКБ. Делается вывод о том, что чрезмерные геополитические амбиции США и сохранение курса на глобальное лидерство, отсутствие должного учета интересов и особенностей государств ЛАКБ вступают в противоречие с возможностями Вашингтона решать сложные проблемы региона, а американские планы по реализации внешнеполитических инициатив в Западном полушарии жестко ограничены.
