The Republic of Ecuador in the United Nations at the beginning of the XXI century

The issue regarding the significance and activities of the Republic of Ecuador within the framework of the United Nations system remains largely uncharted to this day. Based on a number of UN documents, the author attempts to identify the main decisions of Ecuador within the UN structures and evaluate its effectiveness. Despite a small contribution made to the regular budget of the UN, this nation plays a significant part in the implementation of the continuous improvement of the UN activities. The article considers different formats of Ecuador's participation in the UN (activities at the sessions of the UN General Assembly, its contribution to the reform of the Security Council and to the discussion of issues of world agenda).
