Abstract

The article analyzes the manifestations of the crisis of the international economic system (IES), expressed in increasing its instability, reducing the growth rate of world trade and global GDP, increasing political and economic conflicts, reducing the authority of international organizations, not only economic, but also the UN. The main factors of this crisis provided in the article are the following: the technological developments in production, the transition from a unipolar to a multipolar world, the emergence of China as a superpower, the creation of BRICS, changes in the balance of power between developed and developing countries, aggressive US diplomacy, trying to lead the world, weakening of the system of institutions and agreements established after the Second world war. There is a negative impact of imbalances in the IES on the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, causing a slowdown in economic development, a marked increase in poverty, calling into question the prospects of overcoming the backlog in the field of economy and technology, strengthening their positions in global markets. New concepts of the leading Latin American scientists and regional organizations put forward in response to the deterioration of foreign economic conditions, their positions on the reform of the IES are considered.
