Abstract

The Constitution of Guaymaro, adopted on April 10, 1869 during the Ten Уears War of independence, 1868—1878 and proclaimed Cuba a parliamentary Republic, became the first legal document developed in which were embodied the ideas of the European Enlightenment and constitutional experience of the French Revolution and the American Revolution. At the same time, in its articles were reflected peculiarities and specifics of the historical development of Cuba during the period under review, which made it truly Cuban Constitution. Analysis of the basic articles of the Constitution and law-making activities of the House of Representatives became the subject of the work proposed to the reader.
