Современная англоязычная историография деколонизации Договорного Омана

В статье рассматриваются англоязычные исследования, посвященные различным аспектам деколонизация Договорного Омана (современные ОАЭ) и опубликованные после 2000 г. Автор выделяет три школы исторических исследований, изучающих данные вопрос: первая, условно «британская», школа исследует причины, по которым британское правительство приняло решение о деколонизации именно в январе 1968 г.; вторая, условно «ближневосточная» школа рассматривает основные проблемы, с которыми сталкивался процесс деколонизации; третья, условно «американская», школа изучает связь процесса деколонизации с региональной системой международных отношений и глобальными противостоянием в Холодной войне. Открытие в начале 2000-х гг. британских архивов, связанных с процессом деколонизации в Персидском заливе, позволило историкам сделать множество важных открытий и значительно улучшить понимание того, как именно образовались ОАЭ.
